Frase AI Writer can create a surprisingly complete first draft. Our test article reached 2,275 words, completed all 7 planned sections and showed 100% Topic Coverage.
But I would not publish the draft directly. The deeper quality check showed a much weaker EEAT score, and the article still needed fact-checking, personal experience and human editing.
What We Wanted to Test
I did not want to test Frase with a tiny paragraph.
That would tell us very little about the real AI Writer.
Instead, we wanted to see whether Frase could handle the full article creation process.
Our questions were simple:
- Can Frase research a topic before writing?
- Can it understand the search results?
- Can it build a useful outline?
- Can it find supporting sources?
- Can it write a complete long-form article?
- Does the final draft cover the topic well?
- Is that draft actually ready to publish?
Step 1: Frase Starts With Research
One thing I like about Frase is that writing does not start with a blank AI box.
Frase first researches the topic.
During our test, we could see the system working through different research stages before it generated the final article.
This matters because a good long-form article needs context.
If the AI starts writing too early, it may produce a lot of text without understanding what readers actually need.
Step 2: Frase Analyzes Search Results
Frase also looks at the SERP.
In our test, it analyzed competing pages and their structure. This included headings used by pages already ranking for the topic.
This gives the AI more information before it writes.
It also gives the human writer useful context.
Step 3: Frase Finds Recommended Keywords
The research process also gave us a set of recommended keywords.
This can help the article cover the subject more completely.
But keywords should still fit naturally. I would never use every recommendation only because Frase puts it on a list.
Step 4: Frase Researches Questions People Ask
A strong article should answer real questions.
Frase’s research workflow can help identify questions connected to the topic.
This is useful when you are not sure what a beginner may want to know.
Experts sometimes skip basic questions because the answers feel obvious to them. Research like this can expose those gaps.
Step 5: Frase Builds the Article Before Writing It
Frase did not immediately create 2,000 words of text.
It planned the article first.
During the workflow, we could review how the content would be organized before the final generation.
I prefer this to one-click generation.
If the outline is wrong, it is much easier to fix seven headings than rewrite a complete 2,000-word article.
Step 6: Frase Adds Research and Sources
Frase also researched evidence that could support the article.
We saw citations, competitors and other research information during the generation process.
This is better than asking an AI writer to create unsupported claims from memory.
But there is an important limit.
Step 7: Frase Generates the Full Article
Then came the main test.
Frase generated the complete article.
The final draft contained:
- 7 of 7 planned sections,
- 2,275 words,
- 100% Topic Coverage,
- 7 headers,
- 7 links.
At first glance, this looks excellent.
The article is long. It is structured. It covers the planned topic. It includes links.
If we stopped the test here, we could easily say: yes, Frase created a publishable article.
But we did not stop here.
100% Topic Coverage Sounds Better Than It Is
This is where the test becomes important.
Frase showed 100% Topic Coverage.
That means the article covered the topics Frase expected it to cover. It does not mean every paragraph was excellent.
It also does not mean:
- every fact is correct,
- the article has real experience,
- the voice sounds human,
- every source is strong,
- the article deserves to rank.
The Overall Content Score Was Only 68
When we looked deeper, the result changed.
The completed article had an overall Content Score of 68.
I think this is actually useful.
Frase did not tell us that the article was perfect just because it generated it.
The platform still found room for improvement.
Then We Found the Biggest Weakness: EEAT
The detailed quality panel made the difference even clearer.

This is the most important result in the whole AI Writer test.
The draft was technically complete. SEO looked strong. GEO looked strong. Topic Coverage was perfect.
But EEAT was only 38%.
What Was Missing From the AI Draft?
An AI writer can research a topic. It cannot create your real experience.
That is the main gap.
Before publishing, I would add:
- my own test results,
- real screenshots,
- specific examples,
- first-hand observations,
- clear opinions based on the test,
- verified sources,
- important limitations.
This is exactly what we are doing in this review.
Instead of saying “Frase writes good articles,” we can show the actual draft, the word count and the scores.
Could Frase Improve Its Own Article?
We tested that too.
We took the generated article and sent it through Frase Improve.
The result was interesting.
Frase added 36 words and moved the overall Content Score to 70.
The improvement was real, but small.
This is another sign that AI editing does not remove the need for a human editor.
What Frase AI Writer Does Well
1. Research Comes Before Writing
This is one of the biggest strengths.
Frase tries to understand the topic, SERP and related concepts before creating the final text.
2. It Can Create a Complete Long-Form Draft
Our article reached 2,275 words and completed all seven planned sections.
That is useful for writers who struggle to move from research to a complete first draft.
3. The Draft Had 100% Topic Coverage
Frase did a good job covering the planned subject.
We did not receive a thin 700-word article pretending to be a complete guide.
4. Research and Optimization Work Together
Keywords, competitors, article structure and optimization are connected inside one workflow.
5. Frase Does Not Hide Weak Scores
This matters.
The same platform that generated our article later showed EEAT at only 38%. I prefer that to an AI writer that calls every output excellent.
What Frase AI Writer Could Do Better
1. The Draft Still Needs Human Experience
This is the biggest limitation.
AI can organize research, but it cannot honestly say: “I tested this tool for three days and this is what happened.”
2. Sources Still Need Fact-Checking
Citations are useful, but important claims should be checked manually.
3. A Complete Draft Can Create False Confidence
Seeing 2,275 words and 100% Topic Coverage makes the article feel finished.
Our EEAT result showed that it was not.
4. AI Editing Still Needs Another Review
Even after using Improve, the score moved only to 70. There was still work left for the human editor.

If I generated an article with Frase today, I would not publish it immediately.
